Spent 13 years with Education Queensland as a Support Teacher: Literacy and Numeracy before beginning my own practice. I have a passionate interest in supporting dyslexic students. My name is Faye, and I am a qualified and experienced Speld Specialist Teacher with a passion for making learning interesting and fun. I specialise in helping children who are struggling with spelling, writing, and reading. Working as a primary school teacher, I continually observed children who were unable to access the literacy curriculum. Tara is a Mum of children with learning difficulties and is sensitive to the needs of children with ADHD, ASD, Dyslexia and Dyscalculia and their parents. I am a passionate teacher of 26 years in the classroom. I am a qualified teacher with a blue card as well as current teacher registration. I studied about Dyslexia in 2016 then in 2018 after my daughter was diagnosed at age 7. I then sought assistance from Speld Qld in how best to support her. After that experience, and with my teaching background and interest around Dyslexia I did further training in multi sensory teaching with the Learnersaurus Program and worked at the Speld Qld office for 12 months delivering the program onsite. I have also completed further training in other programs as well as currently the two year teacher training course in the “LETRS” Professional development course of which I will finalise this year in 2021. I now tutor online and have limited availability with some face to face Tutoring. I really enjoy teaching and tutoring and assisting people to reach their full potential with their reading, spelling and writing, as well as in other academic areas. I tailor the literacy delivery to the individuals requirements. 

I have taught in many schools both private and state which have been interstate and overseas. I've worked as a primary classroom teacher, executive special education teacher and Principal. Kristy completed a Post Graduate Certificate in Special Education, became accredited as a dyslexia specialist with Australian Dyslexic Association (AMADA MSL educator) and completed Orton Gillingham training and was most recently trained to use The Writing Revolution and also uses the multisensory Maths-U-See curriculum. Kristy operates a private practice in Wynnum, seeing primary aged students face to face in her office and online. Kristy loves to support families to navigate their way through the maze of their child's education. Kristy is able to easily form rapport with students and has a lot of experience with children with Dyslexia, ADHD, ADD and ASD.

I have fifteen years experience as a classroom teacher and over fifteen years working one-on-one and small groups in schools and private tutoring, helping children with difficulties in Reading and Writing and to a lesser extent, Maths. I am Liselaine Hemingway (Liz). I am a practicing speech pathologist and have worked for over 35 years in the state school system. Being able to understand and use spoken language, read fluently with comprehension and express your ideas using written language - is everyone's right. I have accessed further training in systematic synthetic phonics (Sounds Write) as well as Language for Life, Spelling for Life and Language Arts for Life. I am a diagnostician and interventionist, providing student support that is designed intentionally with parents and student.

My name is Katie and I am an experienced educator having taught primary, early childhood and special education for 20 years.  I am passionate about empowering children to develop confidence and success with spelling, reading and writing. I enjoy getting to know my students and understanding their learning styles which enables me to tailor engaging sessions to meet their individual needs. My name is Faye Garrett and I have been working in the education sector for 13 years; first as a teacher aide and then as an Inclusion Teacher after I graduated with a Masters of Primary Education five years ago. As an Inclusion Teacher I have seen first-hand how many children become disillusioned and disengaged in the classroom when they struggle with reading, writing and spelling. As a result, I trained to become a Sounds Write practitioner late last year and I am now offering both online and face to face tuition sessions for individuals and small groups of four students. I love working with children and really enjoy watching them grow in confidence as they unlock the tools to improve their literacy levels.
